Communities around Bwindi are struggling to cope with the orphan crisis and the costs of conservation, and do amazing work to support the most vulnerable with minimal resources - a situation described by the charity Save the Children as 'the very poor helping the destitute'.

A relatively small amount of outside support can make a huge difference.

People from around the world visit Bwindi to see mountain gorillas & other rare wildlife, and return home motivated to do something to help local people, inspired by the optimism and mutual support that they encounter.

Many more would like to find a way to provide direct support to communities living in poverty.

Together we can make a Difference

Friends of Bwindi is run entirely by volunteers working from home - which means we can use 100% of donations to directly support families and organisations in Uganda.
